Michael Pooley
General Manager

Michael Pooley is a highly experienced communications professional with more than a decade of experience in London and Sydney. Specialising in corporate communications, strategic planning and crisis and issues management, Michael advises CEOs, boards and c-suite executives across a range of sectors including finance, transport, printing, executive leadership and forestry.   

Before joining PPR Sydney in 2007, Michael spent a number of years in London on the agency side, leading key accounts across a wide range of sectors. Before being appointed General Manager, Michael was Group Director of the PPR Sydney Corporate and Public Affairs team.




Lisl Pietersz
Group Director,  Corporate and Public Affairs

As Group Director, Corporate and Public Affairs, Lisl facilitates the team’s innovative solutions to give clients competitive advantage.

She brings more than 20 years communications experience across Australia and Asia, helping organisations with corporate or brand positionings and in managing issues, crises and reputations.

Lisl has provided strategic counsel to small to medium enterprises, multi nationals, health consumer groups, governments and NGOs, often set in complex, highly regulated and issues rich environments.

Former clients include Aspect Software, Bristol Myers Squibb, Citibank, Dow Corning, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Johnson & Johnson, Kolling Institute of Medical Research, Meat & Livestock Australia, Pfizer Australia, Shell Gas Lanka, Sri Lankan Board of Investment and Visa International.

In a previous in-house role, Lisl successfully managed a range of sensitive and high profile media issues and crises for the prescription business of then newly formed GlaxoSmithKline Australia.

While Australia is home, Lisl has also lived in five other countries including China where she held a managerial post with a global communications consultancy.



Doug Johns
Group Director,  Consumer Technology

Doug Johns has over 15 years in-house and agency experience in PR. Specialising in consumer technology and entertainment, he has worked with some of the world’s most recognised consumer and technology brands.

Doug was a print journalist and producer for Sky in the UK before becoming the European PR Manager for the games division of Richard Branson’s Virgin Empire. This gave Doug a solid understanding of how to achieve success in all forms of media, including social media outreach and campaigns. He keeps up-to-date on the ever-changing landscape that is technology, including high-end tech such as virtualisation and the cloud.

Since joining PPR in 2008, Doug has managed successful media and communication campaigns for a variety of clients including Dell, Microsoft Xbox 360, EMC, Pitney Bowes, Pitney Bowes Business Insights, Oztion, and Jabra.
