Diabetes Australia

Diabetes Australia recruited PPR Canberra to encourage government support and gain media awareness of Diabetes-related foot disease.

PPR responded with ‘Jump Feet First into World Diabetes Day’, securing the participation of then Health Minster Tony Abbott, and the Parliamentary Diabetes Support group for a media event at Parliament House.

The PPR event was attended by several press gallery journalists, and key messages around the issue of Diabetic Foot Diseases were discussed in the houses of Parliament, generating significant media interest. The new awareness of the issue that resulted helped Diabetes Australia win sponsorship and contributions from government organisations as envisaged.
